ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM
F.N.T. is a non-profit organization. It was founded with the dual purpose of bringing together in a single association all groomers who work for the well-being of companion animals and, at the same time, representing them under the unified category of recognized professionals. It is an autonomous, free, democratic, and non-partisan association, whose value lies in promoting culture, training, and information for its member businesses.
RECOGNITION OF OUR PROFESSION
Over the years, especially during the extraordinary lockdown period, we have been classified as retailers or as hairdressers and beauticians, facing closures, taxes, and fiscal treatments typical of a category to which we do not belong. This does not seem right to us. F.N.T. has always fought for the work of groomers to be legally recognized as a distinct profession. We feel the rightful need, as artisans, professionals, and entrepreneurs, to belong to a specific category that can represent us and guarantee protection for our work, for the welfare of animals, and for safety in our workplaces. And not only for us, but also for all pet owners who can thus enjoy greater security and trust in us, as well as greater awareness and knowledge in the care and respect of their animals.
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL PROTECTION
The main goal we at F.N.T. set ourselves is to make nationally recognized professional training mandatory. By collaborating at the government level, we can indeed initiate standard training procedures, guaranteeing a high level of quality and safety. Today, it is not uncommon for uncontrolled and unregulated openings of low-quality and unethical grooming salons to undermine the sacrifices and dedication of truly professional groomers. What we ask is simply to be represented and protected, just like all other existing professional categories.
UNITED WE CAN
However, let us be clear: the Federazione Nazionale Toelettatori does not intend to oppose other professional associations. On the contrary, we hope to find common strengths and fruitful collaborations to give even greater value to the professional figure of the groomer. All this is not easy to achieve, we know. But we try, because only #UnitedWeCan.
